Write an Ebook: How to Sell More Copies of Every Ebook You Create
Want to sell more copies of every ebook you create? You can; if you have a strategy to follow. Use the tactics I’ll show you below, and your sales will not only increase, but you’ll sell more with each week that passes.
I’ve been creating and selling information products for a decade. It’s a wonderful business for anyone who wants to work from home, setting their own hours.
It’s also a lucrative business model. Bestselling ebooks sell millions of copies. However, even modest sales will provide a great income for you.
Let’s get started.
1. Get Eager Buyers With a List
Your first and most important tactic is to create a mailing list for everyone who’s interested in your topic. Your mailing list is the hub of your strategy. It allows you to contact people at will.
You need a list because people need to hear your product mentioned several times before they buy. Think about your own buying habits. When you hear of a new product, your curiosity is aroused, but you won’t buy until you’ve considered the product carefully, and have decided how you’ll use it.
A tip: use a commercial autoresponder Web application to manage your lists. You’ll have better delivery and open rates if you do.
2. Give Some of Your Ebook Away to Your List
Create a list as soon as you start work on your ebook. You can discuss your upcoming ebook, and give snippets away to arouse curiosity.
You can also educate your list members on the topic of your ebook.
Remember to treat your members well. Give them information, and entertainment. You’re aiming to build relationships which will endure over time.
You can turn members into fans of your brand. Chances are that over the years, if you treat them well, each member will buy several of your products.
3. Develop a Blog As a Launch Pad
When you start working on your ebook, create a blog for it. I’ve noticed that those of my information products which have an accompanying blog, do much better than those which do not.
This makes sense. Every blog post you write becomes a page on the Web, and is another opportunity for buyers to find your product once it’s launched.
4. Make It Easy for Readers: Launch Your Ebooks in Several Formats
Your ebooks can sell for many years. Therefore, offer them in several formats. In addition to PDF, consider additional electronic publication formats, such as that for the Amazon Kindle.
You could also consider creating an MP3 of your ebook’s content.
Survey your list members and blog readers. Ask them which formats they would prefer. This is one of the benefits of creating a platform for your publications: you’ll sell more, because you’re giving people exactly what they want.
You don’t need to offer every format on your product’s launch. Add additional formats over time.
If you feel that your ebook would benefit from paper publication, you can use a Print on Demand (POD) service, and offer it on Amazon other other online bookstores.
Ebook writing and selling can be a very lucrative business. With a little thought and creativity, you can sell more of every ebook you create.
