Want to be a blogging millionaire? Here’s how. First you create one blog, and then another, and another…
This article, I Can Has Funding: Cheezburger Raises $30M For LOLcats, FAIL Blog And Other Memes, reports:
“Founded in 2007 by former journalist Ben Huh, Cheezburger has grown from a small site to a network of fifty sites that have brought internet memes and tech culture mainstream. Cheezburger’s network of sites has a total user base of 16.5 million people who upload more than 500,000 pictures and videos as well as view 375 million pages and 110 million videos each month.”
Reading that post reminded me of Dire Straits 1980s hit, Money for Nothing. (The content on the Cheezburger sites is user-created…

Blog Flipping: How to Create Blogs to Sell

If you’re a Sell Your Writing Online NOW (SYWON) member, and you love blogging, you’re an expert at monetizing your blogs.
But did you know that you can put your skills to good use when you create blogs to sell? You can create a great spare-time income and even a full-time income.
I’ve created hundreds of blogs over the years, and while my own business plan involves creating websites as an investment for the future, it’s comforting to know that I can always sell a few of them if I need money quickly.
So how do you create blogs to sell?
While you can sell Blogger blogs, it’s best to use the WordPress platform, because of the endless customization opportunities WordPress gives you. For example, you can add online stores via a plugin. This means that without doing anything else, you can sell your site shortly after you create it.
With most of your creations however, you’ll want to keep them for a short period, so that they are earning a steady income. Once your websites are earning, you can sell them for ten to 20 times their monthly earnings. However the prices you want for your blogs are strictly up to you. If you feel that a website has huge potential, you may be able to sell it for far more than a multiple of monthly earnings. There’s little pressure on you to sell, because the site’s bringing in an income.
Here’s how to get started.
Use your own knowledge of blogging, and look at sites in specific niches with which you’re familiar, and assess their popularity. Popular niches include making money, health, parenting, and fashion. Create blogs in niches which appeal to you.
You can also create a blog which is based on a product. This may be an affiliate product for which you are an affiliate, or it can be a product which you created yourself.
Blog purchasers like these kinds of sites, because they’re basically businesses in a box. They don’t need to do anything else, to keep earning an income. They can build the income via marketing, but they know that their buying something which is already making money.
You can leave your decision whether you’ll sell immediately or later until after you’ve created the blog. Either way, creating blogs to sell is a great investment of your time and energy.
If you’re a Sell Your Writing Online NOW (SYWON) member, you’ll find lots of material within SYWON to help you to easily write and sell sites.
At SYWON’s members’ requests, I’ve also created a complete “Write to Flip” program, which shows you how to write and sell sites.
Introducing — Angela Booth’s Lazy Rich Blogger method
After several years of trial and error, these days I create blogs which I know will make money: I’ve cracked the code. Not only do my blogs make money almost immediately, they’ll also keep on making money for years to come.
Here’s what one member said: “The LRB lessons have been terrific so far! In addition to the new blog I’ve started as part of this course, I have reactivated and monetized a just-for-fun blog I started last year, and bought domains for three other blogs on topics that interest me. Lazy Rich Blogger is taking me step-by-step through the process of research as well as the mechanics. Only three weeks into the course, what I struggled with a year ago now seems easy — and fun! As always, thank you for helping me take my writing career to a more enjoyable and profitable level.”
If you wish, you can join me on the blogging journey. I hope you do. As the Internet grows ever larger, there are endless opportunities which can turn you into a lazy, rich blogger.
WordPress Plugins: Install them the easy way
Love WordPress? You should. It’s made creating a new website amazingly simple and fast. You can set up a new site within ten minutes: just install WordPress using Fantastico (or whatever script installer your host provides); upload your favorite theme, and hey presto, you’re done.
Installing plugins used to be a pain, but now WordPress lets you install plugins from within the backend.
Just go to your Plugins area (click the link on the left sidebar), and click Add New.

Type the plugin name into the Search field, and press the Search Plugins button.

You’ll be presented with a list of plugins, just press the Install button.

Activate your plugin, and you’re done — it takes seconds, rather than an hour or so to upload your plugins via FTP.
Tip: Keep a master list of plugins which you install on every blog, and when you’re creating a new blog, search for each plugin by name, and install them all.
You’ll find more on WordPress and the other blogging platforms on Sell Your Writing Online NOW (SYWON) web writing training, of course. Enjoy. ![]()

Great article. The nub however, is that guesting on others’ blogs gets you links:
“Links – Links control the web. If you want rankings on Google, you need links. If you want authority in your niche, you need links. If you want traffic from other blogs, you need links. Blogging: Easy Blog Content Anyone Can Create
Blogging can be intimidating for new bloggers. How will you cope with writing content for your blog week after week? Relax. You can do it — let’s look at five easy types of content anyone can create.
1. Articles: Short and Long
Articles are basic blog content. Your articles may be short: just 200 words or even less.
They can also be long, if you want to cover a topic authoritatively. Be wary however, if your articles run to 2000 words and more. Long articles are difficult for new writers to control. Ensure that the structure is logical, and that you have a reason for writing at length. As a rule of thumb, any article which is longer than 800 words usually benefits from splitting the content into shorter articles.
